Red Sage Publishing Presents When It’s All Said and Done BY Denise N. Wheatley NOVEL – 214 PAGES ISBN – 9781603105798; 1603105794 RELEASE DATE – Mar 1, 2019 No men need apply! Savvy, fun-loving writer Leslie James dreams of one day joining Limelight magazine’s writing staff. In the meantime, she keeps her journalistic skills sharp with Blissful Beauties, a beauty blog that celebrates all women. Leslie’s passion for writing takes her mind off her current relationship status: Single. She’s okay with leaving love out of the equation, until she meets Michael—a handsome, sexy single father and sports journalist with everything Leslie could want in a man. At the urging of her supportive, sassy best friend Crystal, Leslie befriends Michael but insists that they remain strictly platonic, but Michael has other plans. He’s determined to make Leslie his lady for life, and as their undeniable chemistry begins to sizzle, Leslie is powerless to resist him. But their budding romance is abruptly cut short when Michael’s ex-wife suddenly resurfaces, wanting to rekindle their relationship. Will the love Leslie has for Michael ever be enough to truly win his heart? Reader Alert! Leslie James is at her wits’ end when it comes to love. The minute she decides to throw in the towel, gorgeous and charming Michael Allgood comes along. Mesmerized by this fine specimen of a man, and against her better judgement, Leslie decides to give him a chance—but she regrets that decision when his greedy ex-wife Mia suddenly shows up on his doorstep. Can Michael prove to Leslie that his intentions are good and he wants a love with her that’ll last forever? To my readers: I’ve been a lover of romance for as long as I can remember. WHEN IT’S ALL SAID & DONE is fun, contemporary romantic comedy that’s very close to my heart. As the novel came to fruition, I found myself wanting to be friends with the smart, savvy, beautiful women in the book and date the handsome, strong, sexy, men! My goal was to tell an entertaining story that embodies matters of the heart and would leave readers thinking about these colorful characters long after the final chapter. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! About the author: Denise N. Wheatley used to cry as a three-year old child when her mother read to her because she wanted so badly to read on her own. Once she learned, she constantly had her nose in a book. Denise has been writing for as long as she can remember, holds a degree in English, and is in love with love and happy endings. She’s published several books and short stories, including a fictional series of vignettes titled, I WISH I NEVER MET YOU: DATING THE SHIFTLESS, STUPID AND UGLY. Despite popular opinion, the book is not an autobiography (even though Denise admittedly does have a story or two to tell about the world of dating…) Excerpt: When Michael put his arm around Leslie, she relaxed within his embrace. She’d had a wonderful time tonight, and appreciated every effort that he had put into the evening. It was then that she decided to stop worrying about everything; especially the future and Michael moving away. She would just focus on the moment. And right now, in that moment, she felt as though she was once again falling under his spell… * * * Leslie heard the sound of soft orchestral music floating through the air. Her eyelids began to flutter, and when they fully opened, she saw credits rolling up the television screen. She and Michael had both fallen asleep on the couch. A cozy fur blanket had been thrown over them. Michael must’ve done that after she’d drifted off. When she shifted a bit, he stirred then opened his eyes and looked over at her. “Hey you,” he smiled sleepily. “Hey you. We’re two big kids, you know. We can’t even stay awake long enough to watch an entire movie.” “Well,” Michael laughed, “We work hard, and we’re tired. But I have more of an excuse than you do. I worked all day, sent the network a ton of information that they requested, and whipped up that gourmet dinner, dessert and espresso for you.” “When you put it that way, yes you do have more of an excuse than me. But I’ve been working hard as well. I’m writing nonstop for Limelight and my blog, and I had to go out and party with my new cohorts in the writing department before I came here. So I’m tired, too!” “Are you too tired to have a talk right now?” Michael asked softly. “A talk?” Here we go, Leslie thought. Am I ready for this? Her mind began to race. Then she took a deep breath and paused for a moment. Yes. You’re ready. She sat up and turned toward Michael. “No, I’m not too tired. Let’s talk.” He took her hand in his. “So…you already know how I feel about you. I’ve been into you since the day we met. But I know that you’ve had your reservations. You have been through a lot when it comes to dating, and I know you’re really focused on your career. But now that things are coming together for the both of us, I’m hoping that you’d be willing to giving us a chance…as more than friends.” Leslie was silent. While she did have feelings for Michael, it had been so long since she’d been in a serious, committed relationship. Was she ready for that? Was he ready for that, especially considering he’d been through a divorce? “Should I take your silence as a no?” Michael asked quietly. “No…You shouldn’t, but…” “So what is it that’s causing the hesitation?” “Well…it’s just that we have such a strong friendship, and I don’t want to mess that up. I want to be certain that we’re both ready for this.” “Like I said, I’ve been ready. I was just waiting on you.” Leslie stared down at her hands, hesitant to continue. Then she inhaled sharply and kept going, knowing that if she and Michael were going to have a future together, they had to put it all out on the table. “You’re right. I have been through a lot when it comes to my past relationships. But what about you? What about the aftermath of your divorce? And the fact that you’re moving away? How would we handle that?” Michael took Leslie’s chin in his hand and gazed into her eyes sincerely. “I understand your concerns. But let me say this. After my divorce, I remained single for a long time and allowed myself to heal. And as for my move, I don’t think we should allow something as trivial as miles to stop us from being together. I’d rather be with you, even if I’m far away, than not be with you at all. We can work the whole distance thing out.” Leslie allowed Michael’s words to sink in. Everything he’d said made sense. And sounded good. She trusted him enough to know that he really did care about her and sincerely wanted to be with her. And now, she was finally ready to admit that she wanted to be with him, too. “So,” he continued, “Does that happy expression on your face mean that you’re willing to give us a chance?” “Yes,” Leslie smiled. “It does.” Michael squeezed her hand and broke out into a huge grin. “Good. And since we’re now both wide awake, are you up for watching another movie?” “Why not. But we’d better watch an action flick this time. And we might need a couple more espressos, too.” Michael hopped up excitedly and heading into the kitchen. “Coming right up!” When he returned, he sat down next to Leslie and handed her a demitasse. Then he leaned and kissed her tenderly on the lips. Leslie gasped slightly. Michael had caught her completely off guard. But when she felt the touch of his soft lips, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to get lost in his kiss. Several moments passed before the pair pulled away from one another. Leslie looked at Michael, and this time saw him in a completely different light. This time, she was looking at him as the man in her life as oppose to just a friend. Michael caressed her cheek tenderly. “That was nice. Really nice.” “Yes it was.” “Should we start the movie?” “Yes,” Leslie replied, watching Michael as he selected a film. She sipped her espresso and thought about how she hadn’t felt this happy and content in quite a long time. Once the movie began to play, Michael wrapped the two of them up in his blanket. Leslie leaned her head against his chest and exhaled, feeling as though she’d finally gotten it right this time.

All of Judge’s women have a place of their own. Most times, he’s with one of them, but every so often, he’ll stay in his renovated childhood home. When my brothers and I came back to town ten years ago, we all had our homes gutted and refurbished, not wanting anything from our pasts to invade our futures. Eden stops at the screen door and turns to face me. “Thanks for walking me home.” Those metal bracelets she’s always wearing clink together as she grabs her braid and twirls the end around her finger. “It was my pleasure.” I take the end of her braid from her hand and finger the strands myself. “You should go without the scarf more often. Your hair is gorgeous.” Her eyelids lower and her tongue darts out to swipe her bottom lip, tempting me to run my tongue along the same path and lick away the moisture she left behind. Her voice drops when she speaks again. “It’s a pain to take care of. I’ve been thinking about cutting it off.” “No,” I growl before I can stop myself. Her brows shoot up, so I soften my tone. “It’d be a sin to cut off all this stunning hair.” She smirks. “I highly doubt God would fault me for cutting my hair.” “You’re probably right. Let me rephrase. It would be an utter shame.” I step closer to her, my fingers still gripping her braid. I wrap it around my fist. She moves back a step and her ass meets the screen door. I twist the braid a couple more times. “What are you doing?” she whispers, her eyes darkening to an emerald green. I close the remaining gap between us. “Showing you the benefits of not cutting your hair.” Pulling gently on her braid until her head tips back, I dip down until my lips graze hers. They’re soft and sweet. So much fucking better than I imagined. Her mouth opens when she releases a breathy moan, and I take advantage, sweeping my tongue inside to explore better. My cock swells against the zipper of my jeans, and I want nothing more than to hoist her up and grind myself against her warm center. Preferably with her skirt lifted. Would she be bare beneath her skirt or would she have on a pair of cute little panties? Either would work for me. Her small hands grip my shirt at my sides, and I wonder if she’s going to push me away or pull me closer. I’d stop if she wanted me to, but I really fucking hope she doesn’t. When her grip tugs me closer and her tongue shyly meets mine, I groan in relief. I shift closer and encircle my arm around her waist, pressing her flush against me. My dick both weeps and rejoices at the intimate contact. Leaving her delicious lips behind, I trail wet kisses down the side of her neck. The unique flavor of her skin is addicting, like heroine to a druggy. “Want to know why I don’t want you to cut your hair?” I murmur against her neck. Her head tips back until it thumps against the door. “Why?” she breathes. I nip the flesh where her neck meets her shoulder. “Because I want to feel it trailing over my chest as you ride my cock.” She shudders out a breath, her nails digging into my sides. I nudge away the thin material of her shirt on her shoulder with my chin and run my tongue and lips over the exposed skin. “I also want to wrap it around my fist and use it to tug you back as I fuck you from behind. I bet your pussy would strangle my cock when I do that, wouldn’t it?” Instead of answering verbally, she nods and presses her hips hard against mine. I wedge one of my legs between hers and press my thigh into her core. Surprise and pleasure force a growl from my lips when she wraps her calf around my leg and digs her pussy onto my thigh. I’m fucking dying. Dying to flip her around, toss up her skirt, and give us the pleasure we both crave. I’m dying to drop to my knees and lick up every drop I know her body has produced. I’m Goddamn dying to have her delectable lips surround my cock and have her suck until she drains me. I’d grip her long hair and help guide her to the finish line. A throat clearing behind us has Eden stiffening in my arms. I don’t give a fuck who it is, I want to kill them. Eden lifts her head from the door and peers over my shoulder at the unwanted and untimely intruder. My grip on her hair tightens for a fraction of a second before I let her go. Red tints her cheeks, but I’m not sure if it’s from what we were just doing or being caught by Judge and Jenny. Her eyes shoot to me, and she gently presses against my chest. I take a step back, missing her body against mine the second it’s gone. “Sorry!” Jenny squeaks from behind us. I shoot Judge a glare over my shoulder. The bastard has the audacity to raise an eyebrow, like he doesn’t care what he just interrupted. He meanders up the fucking stairs, as if cock-blocking me is an everyday occurrence, his hand entwined with Jenny’s, pulling her behind him. At least she has the sense to look embarrassed and regretful for the interruption. I step back from Eden and pull her to the side, so the two can go inside. “Payback’s a bitch,” I inform Judge in low tones as he opens the screen door. “This was payback. For the time you interrupted Layla and me in the back of The Hill.” “Fucker,” I mutter, because he’s right. That shit was hilarious at the time. It’s not so funny now. He laughs and lets the screen door slam behind him. “No fucking on my porch,” he calls out. --------------- Purchase the Other Books in the SeriesPurchase it NowPre-order it Now (Coming April 4)Add the book to Goodreads -------------------------AUTHOR INFORMATION:Alex Grayson is the bestselling author of heart pounding, emotionally gripping contemporary romances including the Jaded Series, the Consumed Series, and three standalone novels.
